what is happening?

have had colitis several years........been under alot of stress this past year or so (sick husband, son, work etc) so occasional flares that come and go....been more often the last couple of months...not every day...just comes and goes.....now to my question........

I think I may have gotton a 24 hr. stomach bug last weekend....it has been going around..just hard to determine whether a bug or flare....now I hate to be so graphical but I dont know any other way to ask....when I got it the diarrhea was yellow colored/foul odor.....which because of the color I thought was a bug....got better for a couple of days......then the last couple of days diarrhea and cramping has returned.....I am bloated and can hear my insides rolling and growling ALOT....now the diarrhea is olive green.........havent eaten anything green....in fact been eating only bland items this week.....I think now Im in a flare but never had so many colors.......yellow and green...........havent seen any blood though...also have felt really fatigued (more than usual) and joint pain and leg/foot cramps......

can anyone relate to this and offer some insight?

thanks.........

Sorry this is a week and a half later, but I got a stomach bug early December, fever, loud stomach and the colors and loosness you described and yes it then went into the worst flare with the most blood I have ever had.  Still in the mist of it, but I think it proves that we need to be extremely cautious about catching "bugs".  I know I'm not giving you any good news, but as with most of our flares this too shall pass....

The colors could be a result of bile.  PLEASE talk to your doctor.  I almost died from malnutrition and complications of Crohn's.  I ended up with a colostomy and then the fix it back surgery.  It has been a devastating year (actually longer).  Leg pains could be malnutrition.  This is serious.  I really can not stress how important it is to sit down with your doctor and be as dramatic and honest as you can.  I still am not back to where I was.  My body is exhausted. Totally.
