menstrual cycle

Anyone have major issues with your menstrual cycle with all the meds?  I haven't had a full-out "period" in over a year and a half.... I was on Yaz, I took progesterone, and now I'm on the generic version of yaz... still get PMS, with no period.  Last blood test revealed I am not even ovulating.  I would like to get pregnant soon, as I'm afraid crohn's may cause issues with pregnancy.  I see my OBGYN next month and I will talk to her- but does anyone else have this issue?  Is it hard to get pregnant with an active flare?

I was told by my doctor to try not to get pregnant until my symtoms stops. I did get pregnant in 2009 and had a miscarriage. This was my first pregancy. I do not have regular periods.

Just an update.  My daughter started feeling much better 2 weeks ago.    Believe it is the result of a combination of a biologic and the SCD diet.  Many of her symptoms went away, but she also got her period for the first time in 8 months.  She is still only 94 pounds and 5'4" tall.  We really thought the low weight was the issue, but are now convinced it was the flared disease that interfered.

My daughter has experienced this as well.  She suffers from low weight from the Crohn's.  Both her obgyn and general practitioner have reassured her that the cycle will return once the disease is under control and her weight is back up.  When body weight is too low, the body goes into preservation mode and turns off things it doesn't need.  For women, their cycle is the first to go.  This is happens to some athletes and those with anorexia as well.  If your weight is not low, then the obgyn can give you more adivce.
