Skipped Period

Thu, June 09, 2011 2:52 PM

I had a month-long life-threatening flare in April, diagnosed with UC in May, and haven't seen my period in 2 months. Is this normal? Did I lose too much body fat or is it the stress?

I've skipped a few after flares of CD, and even when not having flares I'd noticed that they were always really light.

stress, weight loss can both contribute to not ovulating.  be thankful
and make sure to document for your next visit to your doctor.  Do you have regular visits with a primary care or women's health doc?
I have found it helpful to see both my primary and GI regularly .

Thanks for replying. I actually don't mind it in the least. I love not having my period! I can't imagine losing MORE blood, ya know?

Stay healthy!

It could be both. You can lose your period from losing weight too fast and I skipped 3 periods from stress. I wish you luck and hope you get to feeling better soon. God bless!
