Anyone else get fevers?

Tue, August 09, 2011 8:37 PM

I had my first flare at 6 weeks postpartum, since being diagnosed with Crohn's Colitis last year.  Like the first flare, I had fever.  I just finished about a week's worth of Cipro and Medrol Dosepak.  The flare seems to be under control now.  However, I am still getting fever, along with a productive cough and nasal congestion.  Is this just due to my immune system being weakened?  I don't really want to take another antibiotic (I already had to formula feed for a week and would like to continue breastfeeding), but the fevers are so exhausting.  I can't get anything done around the house and I'm not really getting to enjoy being a first time mom as much as I would like.  Any suggestions on how to get my immune system stronger now that the flare is under control?

Fevers have been my first indication of a flare, and have lasted until after I'm done with treatment, and the flare has gone away. Your body temp increases sometimes when you're body's fighting infection, when tissue is healing, or sometimes with me its bc I get dehydrated a lot when trying to shake off a flare.
