Health benefits of a low-carb diet
Low-carbohydrate diets have been shown to cause weight loss and improve some risk factors for heart disease. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women in the United States. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), one in four deaths are caused by heart disease.

Many factors contribute to heart disease, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity, smoking, and diabetes. A low-carbohydrate diet can help improve some of these risk factors.

A low-carbohydrate diet limits carbohydrates such as sugars and starches found in grains, fruits, and vegetables. These diets are often high in protein and fat. Low-carbohydrate diets have been shown to improve blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and blood sugar control in people with diabetes.

Additionally, low-carbohydrate diets may also decrease the risk of developing diabetes. A study from the University of Michigan found that people who followed a low carb diet for six months lost more weight and had a greater decrease in risk factors for diabetes than those who followed a low-fat diet.

The study participants who followed a low carb diet lost an average of 19 pounds, while those on the low-fat diet lost an average of only 6 pounds. The low carb group also had a greater decrease in blood sugar, triglycerides, and LDL cholesterol levels.

Low-carbohydrate diets are not recommended for everyone, however. People with type 1 diabetes should not have a low carbohydrate intake because they need more carbohydrates to maintain blood sugar control.

The ketogenic diet is a very low carb, high fat diet that shares many similarities with the Atkins and low carb diets.

I have tried keto for a year or two, I found it to be good for me, but a lot of people miss interpret how they should be using it.
I also tried just low carbs and intermittent fasting.
overall I can say that carbs was not great for me, and only later I found out how to incorporate carbs back into my diet.
Feel free to PM me for more information :)

My father tried it last year. He lost a lot of weight but also started feeling extremely tired after doing it for 2 months. Then he started having headaches everyday so we literally forced him to visit a docor and the doctor did his blood test and found that because of the extreme Keto diet that he was doing, his body became malnutrioned. So, he adviced my father to stop doing that Keto diet completely and go back to eating food as a normally.

I strongly feel that instead of doing this keto diet, people should just start eating healthy.

I tried it for one month with my husband. At first, I felt good and lost bloating and a few pounds. However, I then had a really bad flare with surprise blowouts. I am still struggling to recover. I know what to do: more fiber, enemas.
