27 years old- Surgery

Mon, April 13, 2015 4:59 PM

I just had surgery to remove my colon. I am 27 years old. I was diagnosed at 18. I was always against it and was certain it would never come to surgery. I was wrong.

If you or someone you know is
suffering with colitis and at the end of a long road of failed medicines, surgery may be something you're considering. Or maybe not. Maybe you're not ready or afraid of the unknown. I am here to help. Check out my blog about my experience! mattee66.wordpress.com

Hi Matt!  I couldn't agree more. I was diagnosed with Crohn's more than 17 years ago. I fought "the bag" for 7+ LONG years before finally just being D.O.N.E.  I was 85lbs .. Taking 40+ pills A DAY .. In and out of the hospital more times than I can count! I had my colon REMOVED the exact month/year that you were DIAGNOSED (weird coiicidence, huh?)  Having my surgery was the best medical decision I've made to date!  It's nice to hear someone else agrees :)
