Anyone else done this or know someone?

I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis when I was 19 years old.  When diagnosed I was prescribed Asacol, and sometimes prednisone.  The symptoms at one time got so bad that I eventually went to the doctor to ask for something else, and I had something scheduled where he was going to give me some kind of injection? and a blood transfusion?  he told me it was my only option to make my situation better.  The appointment was scheduled in a week from when I saw him, but inbetween it I went to a Suboxone clinic to be treated for opiod addiction.  I was put on Suboxone (16 mg a day) and 24 hours later all the pain was gone, and suddenly go to the bathroom 1 or 2 a day like I did as a child.  I can eat anything I desire, and I havent seen a Gastro doctor in 7 years.  I know it just "treats symptoms" but nothing has gotten any worse! Why would I ever want to go any other route!  Like I said its like for 7 years Ive been UC free.  ITS AMAZING!!! I'd like to hear anyone's feed back, and I read these forums and all I see is pain.  Ive been their in the same situation.  I'm letting you know what works for me. I'd also love to see a doctor reply, but my GI doctor told me it wouldnt last more than a year like this, but here I am 7 years later.  Maybe its because suboxone has a half life of 48-72 hours? and I dose everyday? I dont know, and dont care....I love being free of the disease.
Thanks for listening. I probably have alot of mistakes typing in here but o well....its late and i want to go to bed.
