Being Open

Sun, July 23, 2017 8:17 AM

Hi all :)

I am 20 years old, and finishing my second year of college

I am newly diagnosed (about 3 months) and i keep running into the question - when to tell people if at all.. This goes to dates, friends and family (cousins.. Immediate family knows and we are very open about it)

I wanted to know what the rest of you do? Is it something eveyone knows about you or only the ones closest to you?

hi! i've had IBD issues since i was 14 and i am 28 now. everyone in my life knows. everyone. my mom and her partner know, of course... but i choose to let my friends know because my issues impact being able to do things and any potential dates know because there are, truthfully, some people that just do not want to establish relationships with chronically ill people. honestly, i think your level of being open is going to be up to you. :)
