Work & Crohns

Wed, February 07, 2018 4:44 PM

Hi, My name is Athena and I have had Crohns Disease for as long as I can remember but was only just diagnosed a couple of years ago. I am finally in remission, but still have debilitating symptoms because of the medication I'm currently taking. It causes me to have a lack of appetite, nausea, & fatigue. At the moment I am taking Humira once a week, Azathiroprine, 8mg zofrans, and appetite stimulants which all except for one causes the fatiuge & drowsiness. Not to mention the stomach spasms I get which my doctor cannot seem to explain. Last year I was a full time student for maybe a month and was eventually forced to drop out due to my difficulties.
I was extremely devastated at that time. I felt like a complete failure. Going to a job everyday is pretty much out of the question and the bills are piling up. IM STRESSED OUT!  I don't know what else to do at this point to provide for myself & its slim to none to find an employer who understands my struggle.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to work from home?

Managing life and Crohn’s disease can be challenging. We are sorry to read about your health challenges and dropping out of school but we are glad to read that your are in remission.

In terms of school, it may be helpful to look at online classes until you are able to get back into the classroom.
