Are there any teens here?

I am 14 and have been diagnosed with Crohns. I have nobody to talk to and am feeling very sad, mad, alone. Anyone?

hey! I am also a teenager, I was diagnosed with severe UC in 2007 and
throughout the years I've had surgeries done and took a bunch of medications.
I completely understand where you are coming from and you should know that
you are not alone! Just look at all the other replies!
If you would like to contact me, you can write me at NLDEANER@aol.com smiley

Hey Ali. I'm Alaina, and I understand what you're going through. I was diagnosed with Crohn's at the age of 10, and I'm now 16. I have one of the most severe cases known to the medical world and I completely understand that it can be embarrassing to talk about with people, especially people who just seem like they could never understand. But if there is one thing I've learned through all of this, it's that your family, friends, and anyone who loves you, is willing to learn and help out in any way they can. Time definitely helps this process get easier, as you become more comfortable with and more knowledgeable about your disease. I started by writing reports for different classes and teaching fellow students about it, and now my whole high school (I am a senior this year) knows about my disease and completely accepts it. If you ever want to talk, feel free to Facebook me: Alaina Fisher, or email me at fisher.alaina@gmail.com :) And remember, it will get easier... I promise.

You should ask your parents to look into Camp Oasis.   There is info. in the kids/teens tab to the left and my daughter (who was 4 when diagnosed and is now 12) has met a number of kids there.   I know it can seem really scary about being away from family, I know it was scary for me to send her the first time, but the kids have the time of their life.   Many of the older kids keep in touch throughout the year (pretty easily too w/texting / email).   It is one of the best ways to meet kids just like you!

Good luck !

There is an online teen website where young people can go to chat with others in a monitored chat room.  Here is the link http://www.ucandcrohns.org/

I was diagnosed when I was 16, and right before I was able to start driving. You will get angry and stuff about it just bc sometimes it can be rough in HS, but its all in what you make it.
