weight lose

i have a 26 year old daughter who 5 years ago was told she had UC, She had her colon removed which did not solve the pain problem.  4 weeks ago she was told she has Crohns.  She is in a major flair and the pain keeps her from walking or getting out of bed or the couch.  She does not eat because nothing tastes good and she is afraid anything she will eat will add to the pain.

She has lost 15 lbs in the past 4 weeks.  is there any liquid protein drink or other supplement to help her gain weight?  She is allergic to milk and wheat.
Thanks

Hi Steve,

I'm so sorry to hear about your 5 year old grand daughter. My daughter Trinity is 9, and was diagnosed with UC 2 years ago. One thing we found helped was
Pedi-sure. The Dr recommend it for her to continue to get her nutrients. I know you said she is allergic to milk. You might need to look into the hospital hooking up to a pic-line. It's where they give you  your nutrients through an IV. Not that you want to see her hooked up to an IV, but to see her lose weight, and look sickly sometimes the IV outweighs that. I wish you, your daughter, and granddaughter the best. It's a horrible disease. Sending prayers to you all that she is feeling better soon.
