Hi Milly,
Sorry to hear this. I got diagnosed 3 years ago and have been struggling with SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) and microscopic colitits. The pain is normal. I find that overy chewing my food and eating slow reduces the sharp pains and helps a lot. Even drinking water too fast can give me a quick sharp gut pain. Please feel free to reach out. I haven't found a lot of success yet in treatments. I am still trying different things. Currently I am on steroids for my flare up.

Colitis affects everyone differently, but yes, your symptoms seem fairly typical. Steroids can help, but you can’t stay on them long term. changing diet seeems t help for some. I think the biologics medicines offer the best hope, although I was on one for two years (Remicade) which did nothing for me. I’m switching to entyvio, and hoping for better results.
