Hi all,
I have just been diagnosed with Chron's after several tests. I have had months of Lose watery stools with some blood. And a stomach that will not settle. I am now on Budesonide have been for a week and seems to be helping me. Is Budesonide a long term drug and any experiences with this drug? After my Colonoscopy I was not really with it, and cannot remember what my Dr said.
However, I am a new diagnosis and relatively new to having symptoms (4 months) why I feel different at the moment (and fortunate) is I have not had any pain at all, just the stool issues. Has anyone experienced this? Am I just waiting for pain to start? Any help, guidance or tips really appreciative.
James

I had ulcerative colitis and ultimately had a collectomy. Then I developed Crohns. It’s nasty, lots of diarrhea, occasional vomiting and tired all the time, but not really a lot of pain like with colitis. I chalk that up to not having a colon. I have had a lot of fistula problems and surgeries to deal with them and do get some stabbing pains in my butt, but that’s not the Crohns

I understand the battle. I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis at 14yo and suffered for 10 years with GI doctors that never explained how to heal or improve. I have no experience with that drug. I took prednisone, asacol, 6MP, Humira, and Remicade. True improvement happened when I changed my lifestyle. I have been medicine free for 10 years and did not have surgery because of natural medicine. First intervention is diet: remove common food allergens corn, wheat, gluten, dairy, eggs, potatoes, and alcohol. Avoid carageenan in milks and foods. Avoid sugar! L-glutamine, probiotics, omega 3, Vitamin C and E can all help. Castor oil on tummy every night with heating pad can help restore structural integrity. Exercise 3x per week to keep things moving and improve immune system. Find a holistic, naturopathic doctor. They will teach you how to improve your health and stay in remission. Hope this helps :)

Whatever you do, DO NOT take budenoside long term. It is a corticosteriod and will cause numerous health issues if you take it long term. It is meant to stop a flare and to help you transition to a maintenance medication.
