Newly diagnosed child

Sat, November 21, 2020 12:43 PM

My son is in the 6th grade and is newly diagnosed with Crohns. They did some scopes and said it looked consistent with crohns. He has had a fistula that flares up once in a while. Once in the first grade and the other in 5th grade.
During the scope they found ulcer ing tissue in his upper small intestine.

The doctors want to put him on inflectra for a long period of time. I feel like my kid is pretty healthy average weight and height. Should I ask to try corticosteroids/modulators/antibiotics first since he hasn't tried anything to moderate an ulcer he has had for 5 years.
