Remicade Internationally

Sun, July 06, 2014 12:00 AM

Has anyone tried to get a Remicade Infusion internationally? I require one every six weeks to keep my Crohns in remission. But I really want to try to volunteer abroad for a longer period than just six weeks. My doctor wasn't much help. Referred me to my insurance. My insurance then told me that they only cover "emergencies" internationally. So i looked up buying traveler's insurance, unfortunately they don't cover pre-existing conditions.

Am I completely out of luck? Its my dream to volunteer abroad. I've found a few doctors who will be able to give me a Remicade infusion while I'm down there, but none will do it without insurance.

Any help that anyone could give would be so helpful. I'll be volunteering in Buenos Aires, Argentina if that's of any use.

Thank you!
