Travel to New Zealand for a year

Tue, July 07, 2015 7:08 AM

Hi, I am moving to New Zealand from the UK on a 12 month works visa next week and I have been talking to a pharmacist about making sure I can get my medication whilst I am away. He says getting azathioprine is fine but they do not have mezavant xl in the country so I need to discuss an alternative medication with a GP when I arrive. I was just wondering if anyone has experienced something like this before, or has any ideas what the alternatives to mezavant are? My colitis is under great control at the moment but I'm still a little worried that changing up my regular prescription could have a bad effect.

Thanks for any advice!
