Abscess and Flying

Fri, June 17, 2016 3:50 PM

Hi! I am currently in the hospital for an abscess near my ileum, and am on antibiotics. I have a family trip in July (Pennsylvania to England/Paris), and I really do not want to miss it. The doctor doesnt want me to go on this trip because the cabin pressure might cause the abscess to rupture. However, would it be okay if I were to ask him to drain it and put a catheter in it? I havent been able to ask him yet because he only visits for like 30 seconds and then leaves. Does anyone else have any experience or advice?Thank you!
