HELP! I'm going to Mexico!

Sun, August 03, 2008 12:00 AM

Help everyone!  My wonderful boyfriend surprised me with a trip to Cabo for my birthday.  I am so excited and no one has ever done something so wonderful!  We are staying at a five star resort and he's doing it all, but don't want to deal with being sick    and or ending up in a Mexico dr/hospital if I can help it!!!   It is SO hard for him.

I started on new Fentanyl patches the other day and I am worried about traveling with them internationally (as these are more of a gel)?  Has anyone done this or have any suggestions?

Has anyone been to Cabo where you could give me anymore eating tips, etc?

Thanks so much!

I just got back from Cabo on Sunday. Don't drink the water of the tap, don't eat raw vegetable, especially lettuce, and avoid creamy stuff and you should be fine. All drinks served with ice use purified ice so don't be concerned with that. Keep to a schedule and you'll be fine. Cabo is a very Americanized part of Mexico and you'll hardly feel like you are abroad. You are staying at a 5 star resort, I wouldn't be worried. For good seafood check out Marisco Macumbos. For a classy night out, check out Edith's. We even did a snorkling/booze cruise and there were even bathrooms on the boat so anywhere you go you have bathrooms as well.

Hello!  I've been to Cabo's a couple of times.  I LOVE it!!!! If you are staying at a five-star hotel, you should be fine.  The best thing I can tell you is don't drink the local water and eat well cooked foods.  Find out if the meds you are taking says anything about being out in the sun.  The sun is different from the states.  It's really hot over there, so you should either buy a sun hat or take a hat.  Also, take a doctors note of what meds you are taking and make sure you take extra meds, just in case.

You should be fine and enjoy your trip!!!!!  Let us know how it goes!!!
