So, I'm going to Hawaii next week, and I'm really nervous for the 6-hour flight. This will be my first time traveling since I've been officially diagnosed with Crohn's.
Any tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Don't worry-you will be fine. Just keep yourself hydrated, and after you go through security, buy some water for the initial part of the flight before the carts come around. This will keep you healthy. Also, bring food on the plane that you can tolerate.

Hi,
I just flew to Hawaii 2 weeks ago. What I highly recommend is to pack all your medications in your carry on. Eat something light beforehand that you know you can tolerate. And bring snacks for the flight b/c you may not be able to eat the food offered.
Not all people can do this but if you can, Inquire about deals to upgrade to 1st class b/c you have access to your own bathroom and don't have to wait in a line, typically.
Also what I have done in the past is to program in my phone the phone numbers of clinics. There are Kaiser clinics on all the islands.
Hope this helps and have a great time!!

I have actually made this flight. The best advice I can offer, is keep to your NORMAL routine! If you try to alter eating to accomadate, it usually upsets the cart. Relax, it goes by pretty fast and they do have bathrooms ALOHA!!

I may not have practical tips but I can tell you that stress can make you feel worse and cause trips to the bathroom so the best advice is to try to keep yourself as calm as possible to try to keep your symptoms under control. Remember the mind is a powerful thing and it can make or break you, so just try to stay as positive as possible and remember that the best part is that you are going to Hawaii!!!!!!!!!
