So my GI doc has put in an order for me to start methotrexate for my Crohn's disease. I've had Crohns for a year and no treatment has worked to get me out of my flare. I'm worried about starting methotrexate because it's basically poison. And it's a chemo therapy. I'm just not sure if it's worth it to even try it. Does anyone have any experience with it?

What was the dosage for you? And was it to treat Crohn's or UC?

I took the pills for a few months and hated it. It didn't help (i was also on humira) and I couldn't get off the steroids so we stopped it when I had surgery. It made my hair fall out.

It would be the once weekly shot. And I have been taking remicade since June of last year. My dosage was upped to 627mg recently.

shots or pills? I did injections
I have taken it twice and I think it helped but the second go around it did give me a little nausea after taking. You may want to ask for Zofran or another anti nausea drug to take first.
you have already take the other major drugs like Remicade and Humira?
I would also suggest trying Stelara off label
best of luck
