Sacroiliitis

I was diagnosed with Chron's last year. I'm now on Entyvio after having a bad reaction to Humira last year. Recently, I ended up in the ER with back/hip pain (sacroiliitis), which has been an issue for me for years. I never knew there was a connection between Chron's and sacroiliitis until I got the discharge papers from the ER and saw that it is a very common extraintestinal side effect of Chron's. I never would've put the two together. Now I'm reading that Chron's is also associated with ankylosing spondylitis. My brother has AS as well as Chron's. I'm wondering if anyone on here has had issues with either sacroiliitis or AS and how they're being treated for it.

I have had ulcerative colitis since 2001 and a few years ago I was having a lot of pain in my upper right SI joint. My primary care doctor was able to inject some steroids into the area and It lasted almost a year. Perhaps that could help ease your pain? Best of luck on your care.

I've been on Entyvio since November. I don't think I've been on it long enough to know if it's helping with my Chron's or my sacroiliitis, but I'm hopeful. I never even knew there was a correlation between the sacroiliitis and the Chron's until I ended up at the ER recently when my back/hip seized up. That would be great if it helped with the back pain as well as the Chron's. I've been dealing with it for years and it just gets worse as I get older.

I've had Crohn's for over 35 years and hip/pelvic pain for close to half of that. I attribute it to a slip I had many years ago. I'm curious if others are also suffering from pelvic or hip pain.
