Starting Stelara

Sun, February 19, 2017 10:47 PM

Hi everyone. I get my first dose of Stelara via IV this week, I was wondering if anyone had experiences they could share. I'm pretty nervous about taking it-mostly because I hate IVs but, any feedback would be great!

A pharmaceutical drug that impacts your immune system is called STELARA ovo game. The risk of experiencing severe side effects may rise if you use STELARA.

Now that you and your doctor have decided on STELARA, it’s time to engage your team, from healthcare provider to specialty pharmacy provider. These steps outline the process and identify the role you can play in the management of your treatment.

My insurance just approved Stelara for me this morning!  My infusion is next week and I am so nervous because I have tried everything else; Humira, Cimzia, Remicade, Entyvio...I hope it works because I have been miserable!  I hope it works for you too smiley

I was on Humira for several years and it appeared to control my symptoms pretty good. After a very rough patch of life some symptoms returned and he went ahead and took a look.... Found some inflammation and ulcers. Dr. felt the Humira was not working well and put me on Stelara. I unfortunately have not had good results with it, to the point that I now am looking at alternatives, Entivio or Remicade... I am actually considering going back on Humira thinking it may have been more about stress than the drug that caused the inflammation. But regarding Stelara other than it didn't do much for me I had no issues with the loading dose IV or any subsequent injections. No major side effects (maybe some fatigue) otherwise, no worries. I wish good/better luck with your treatment!

Yes, started on Stellera almost exactly a year ago. I get it every 6 weeks for my Crohn's. I too started with the initial IV loading dose. Stellera usually makes you very tired for a few days after and sometimes I feel a little foggy headed for a couple days and get a slight headache, but it passes after a few days. Stellera helped slightly, but unfortunately I've still continued to flare and disease has spread, so going to try Iv IG infusions possibly next! Good luck to you, side effects definitely are not too bad, just be ready to be a little more tired.

Hi- I'm starting Stelara end of this week. Can you tell me how you felt after the IV infusion and how things are going now. I have a very important event the day after the infusion and I'm already nervous and trying not to stress. Any info you can share would be helpful. I hope you're feeling much better and that Stelara is giving you relief!

HI! I also recently started Stelara and am looking for others who have started it and how it is working for them. So far it's been about a month and I've tapered from the steroids, but my symptoms have returned, so going back on a low does of steriods until the Stelara kicks in. Anyone else share their expreiences?
