I am 56 and was diagnosed with Crohn's in 1981, when I was 20. They treated me with Prednisone for a LOT of years, and I followed a low/no fiber diet. I FINALLY got off the steroids, and for the last 15 years, have been essentially in remission, and have managed it with diet. Recently, I have had a flare up. Just things not moving along as well as they should. Went to see my doc. Had colonoscopy, and MRE. He says he wants to put me on Humira, and Imuran. I've been reading about Humira, and honestly I am just terrified. I do not consider myself "moderate to severe". I am able to manage things when I am careful about what I eat. But Doc seems adamant that I get on Humira. Can you all please share your experiences with Humira?

I have been on Humira for 6 months with good luck, I have severe fistulating crohns. My GI has hundreds of pts on Humira, none with serious infections. They are likely using Humira to prevent you from going back on steroids.

I've been on Humira for about 6 years now and it has been a life changer keeping me out of remission for years at a time - I've not expereniced any bad side effects from being on it either, honeslty I hate being on the steriods and would choose Humira over them every day!!
