Hi everyone,
I have been struggling with symptoms of Crohn's for over two years now, including severe lower abdominal pain, loose stools & diarrhea, bloating, cramping, fatigue, chills and occaisional fever, and inflammation/redness of eyes. I recently got a colonoscopy which revealed an ulcer in my terminal ileum. The biopsy results showed that I have focal active ileitis. However, my blood and stool tests that tested for CRP and Calprotectin (respectively) came back normal. My doctor is still hesitant to diagnose me with anything at this point but I am so desperate for more concrete answers! Is it possible for certain inflammatory tests like CRP and Calprotectin to come back negative if a person has Crohn's? If I do not have Crohn's I'm wondering why I would have ileitis...any insight would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Maddy

I think you should go to a reputable large hospital to get tested again because it is unlikely that you will be positive. contexto

I am in the same boat! All the symptoms are there. Colonoscopy shows the signs, but the bloodwork is contradictory 😑 Waiting on a CT scan to hopefully give some more insight!!
