Entyvio - Fatigue

Sat, December 08, 2018 10:25 PM

Hi All,

My 10 year old nephew was diagnosed with UC 6 months ago, after steroids the doctor suggested "Entyvio". Doctor told that this medication only works after 6 weeks. He got his second infusion 5 days ago but he is extremely fatigue and having abdominal cramps (5 times a day) for the past 5 days (He was fine on the first infusion). Anybody experienced this before, do you have any idea when this fatigue will go?.
Here after every infusion he will experience fatigue? Please advise

Thanks,
Sathya

I’ve been on entyvio for a year with no results.  I was on remicade for two years with no results.  Prednisone was the only thing that worked. For me but I’ve used up my lifetime allotment. Tiredness pretty much hits everybody with crohns or colitis.  I’m just happy I don’t barf nearly as
often  I’m way down from “daily.”

Hi Sathiya,

I was on Entyvio for about 6 mos, it started to work alright within 2-3 months but caused me to be dizzy and tired.   Unfortunately, in my case, the symptoms didnt go away.  My GI switched me over to Remicade, less significant side effects, but I was still feeling tired and dizzy.  What finally worked for me was that my ND suggested that I lower the dose of Remicade and add in a supplement.  My GI was good with trying it out and for the last year thats been working for me.  I've been pretty good on the CD and  medication symptom front.

Entyvio may take 12-14 weeks to really see an improvement after staring it, I cant remeber if fatigue is a side effect. If fatiue is a usual symptom from his disease, Enytyvio may need more time to work. In my personal experience, it took 13-14 weeks being on it to realy feel improvement.
