Hi,
I have been on Remicade for four years now, 400 mg every six weeks most of the time. Since I am on Remicade, I rarely get real colds with blocked nose, sore throat or notable coughing. Instead I quite often feel like having a subliminal cold, the nose feels only slightly swollen, a bit of mucus in my throat, slight chest pain and slightly higher temperature but still below 37 Celsius. Only once in the four years did I have something that felt like a real infection with high fever and coughing for weeks.
Do you see the same under Remicade or do you still get real colds?
My problem with the whole thing is that I am now often not sure if I am sick or not and thus if I should rest or not. The whole situation is complicated by another condition which requires me to substitute cortisol. Feeling a bit sick can also be a sign of too low cortisol level, while taking too much could supress a genuine infection.
The question of resting or not is important to me because sports is an important part of my life and physical and mental well-being. I don‘t want to overdo sports if I have a real infection, on the other hand if I stop sports whenever something feels off, it will never happen.
Regards, Robert
