Hey Everyone – I have been a stable UC patient for almost 10 years, taking mesalamine (Asacol for a while, followed by Lialda for the last 2-3 years). I recently noticed a dark purple residue color on my toilet seat the next day after urinating or having a bowel movement. There is no discoloration right after urinating or having a bowel movement; but I’ll see it the next day from the ‘splash’ that occurs on the underside of the toilet seat. I have notified by doctor and ran some urine, fecal, and blood tests to check for a flare/inflammation/infection – all came back normal. My doctor seems perplexed and said not to worry about it; however, it is still concerning to me. I even called the manufacturer but had no luck. I was wondering if anyone has heard of something similar and what it could be. Any thoughts or suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I can only say that the mesalamine coloring is to blame for this problem, which has persisted for a year now, and that's all the advise run 3

Take medicine and treatment according to the bad ice cream regimen, then go for a check-up as scheduled.

Thinking too much cannot solve the problem. Wait for the test results and then consider the worst, requiring geometry dash bloodbath's intervention.

In some cases, changes in urine or stool color can be related to medications, dietary factors, or other underlying conditions. However, since you have already consulted with your heardle doctor and undergone tests that came back normal, it's possible that the color change you're experiencing may not be directly related to your UC or indicate any immediate health concern.

I think mesalamine is the cause of this problem, you should ask your doctor for ovo game clarification.

Thank you for the response. The active ingredient for Lialda is mesalamine so it certainly could be the case for me. It was just odd that it happened all of a sudden even though I was on Lialda for a long time.

I have also had this issue but for me it comes from mesalamine. I don't have any other advice except that I it has been happening to me for a year and it's just due to the coloring of mesalamine, For a while I was on mesalamine. enemas and when one spilled it was also purple.
