I am 8yrs in being diagnosed with UC. I have been on immurand for about 5yrs. Outbreaks having been getting worse over last couple years. Taking prednisone 7to8 months of the year. Dr. Wants me to go on biologics. GP tells me it can cause cancer, gastro doc tells me the increase in chances of getting cancer is small? Anyone on entiva or Remicade for a long time that can tell me it's worth it? I'm tired of feeling bad all the time even when I only eat what I should!!

Is it true that biologics have fewer side effects? Biologics, according to logo design services UK, have fewer and milder side effects than other Crohn's disease medications like corticosteroids, which suppress the entire immune system. Even so, there are some side effects to be aware of before taking a biological medicine.

Entyvio is worth a try. I've had no side effects with no inflamation in 2 years. I still have flares when I'm stressed. Your Doc is right. Very low cancer risk but you can ask your infusion nurses too. Let me know if I can help further. I do best on a low residue diet. Maria.
